Meet American War Hero 97-Year-Old Owen A. Mclaughlin
Pastor Dewey Moede
Yesterday walking up to the Veterans Hospital in Albuquerque I met American War Hero, Owen A. McLaughlin. Owen was walking with a cane and I asked him if he needed help to get to his car. He kindly said no, he had been having to use a walker and now was using a cane and his praying he will soon not need the cane! I was concerned, because the parking lot pavement has many deep cracks in it and I was afraid that he would fall. Why do they not shuttle these heroes of ours to their cars? Give them VIP treatment that they deserve! CAN’T WE PAVE THE PARKING LOT!!!??? NO SHUTTLE SERVICE!!??? I asked Owen to give me his thoughts on the Country he fought for…..he said, “I’m glad my four brothers are not here, they do not have to see this.” He closed by saying, “A socialist country (America) cannot support itself and the military, military cutbacks will continue unless the country turns itself around, and I have hope it will with the election coming up.” I have included pictures of the calling card that Owen’s granddaughter created. I have the deepest respect for the men and women who have and are serving this country. I am tired of Politicians who say “nothing noise” about how they have respect and concern for our Veterans and do nothing to help them. I was told yesterday that 300,000 Veterans in the United States of America are waiting on disability claims! It was such an blessing to meet Owen, he inspires me! He is a true hero! A true role model! Thank you Lord for the life and service of Owen!
