The US Navy admitted on Wednesday that one of their ships and an escorting helicopter were the target of hostile action from an Iranian naval vessel while participating in a routine training exercise in the Gulf of Aden last month. The incident, though minor, was the latest in a string of similar aggressive actions taken by Iranian military units against US and Western ships and aircraft in international waters. Also on Wednesday, US President Barak Obama gave a speech at American University in which he declared that the only alternative to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action regarding Iran’s renegade nuclear program is a devastating war.
