Pray for America: Bus Tour
by John Bornschein, Vice Chairman
While you may be aware of the united effort of thousands of volunteers across the nation to mobilize prayer at over 43,000 events in all 50 states on the annual National Day of Prayer (NDP), you may not be aware that our NDP team also engages, equips, and encourages millions more to pray during our fall summits and bus tours – throughout the year. In communities across our nation, people are praying strategically and intentionally like never before – raising up prayer for government, church, family, military, business, media and entertainment, and education.
In May of 2013, we set out on our first Pray for America Bus Tour, and since then, we’ve journeyed through 43 states, visited over 500 communities, and touched more than 130,000 individuals. This year, the impact will continue. We will be on the road from September 9th toNovember 4th, focusing our efforts on raising up prayer in and for the sphere of education. We believe that this mission to those involved in education is critical, because never before in our nation’s history have religious freedoms and the understanding of our Christian heritage and belief system been under such an attack on our school campuses.
While this challenge is certainly great, we have also observed how God is working in extraordinary ways in these schools and among this generation of young people! Over the past two years, we have literally heard hundreds of testimonies and personally witnessed a stirring of the Holy Spirit among young people nationwide – a generation crying out for revival and awakening. A generation asking God to “reset” our culture.
This fall we will travel over 6,000 miles through 24 states, visiting close to 45 schools, colleges, and universities, beginning at Harvard and ending in Washington DC, praying for the Department of Education. From campus to campus we will meet and pray with faculty and staff, campus ministry leaders, and students – giving them an opportunity to share their stories.
Working alongside key nationally recognized student ministry partners like Reset, Pulse, BGEA, Cru, YWAM, Collegiate Day of Prayer, Circuit Riders, Campus Renewal, Navigators, FCA, and others, we will be uniting our efforts to mobilize millions in life-changing, transformational prayer. Along the way, we will set up rally points at specific times and locations, updating the information regularly and making it available atwww.pray4america.org and through social media.
If you have ever wanted to be a part of a life-transforming ministry and would like to invest in this emerging generation of leaders, then this is your opportunity. Please prayerfully consider standing with us in this year’s “Pray for America” mission. Our goal is to cover 45 campuses in 24 states (or more). To ensure that we can accomplish this mission, we needyour support. Each mile will cost approximately $9 – so, would you consider standing with us by financially supporting a portion of our trip? Whether you can help with one, ten, or even one hundred miles or more, you can rest assured that 100% of every gift you give will go directly to this ministry cause. Click here to sponsor a mile >>
There is a fresh wind blowing across our nation’s schools and God is raising up His church for such a time as this.
We would also like to enlist your prayer support by inviting you to download our Pray for America: Education Prayer Guide. Thank you for your willingness to stand in the gap with us. May God richly bless you and may God bless America!
