I never really understood the importance of one little word, “BEGOTTEN” until the Lord revealed His meaning to me just now!
I always thought “begotten” was more related to the miracle in the BIRTH of JESUS from John 3:16. Yet, God knew all along that Jesus was given to be the 1st Begotten of the dead, so that all who will believe could choose to be washed from our sins in his own blood; and choose life! And, choose blessings in this life with God!
Why would God do this incredible act of love for us –to sacrifice His only begotten Son? Because the Bible says that God SO loved you and me! Because God SO loved all who will simply believe in their heart that Jesus is the Son of God, who was the only one Qualified to accomplish Salvation for us and conquer the consequence of sin, which is death. Jesus provided atonement and made reconciliation possible with a Holy and Living God, who longs for a relationship with us.
By Grace we are saved through faith in Jesus Christ –this is not of our own doing; this is a gift of God! God gave of Himself for sinners (the world) –and this includes you and me!
God has revealed to me in Revelation 1:5, Jesus Christ …is faithful & loved us … “and the first BEGOTTEN of the dead” … God’s only begotten Son has washed us from our sins in his own blood…”
God’s Word is amazing in Revelation! We know these things on some level, but to grow in understanding is absolutely amazing to me! God is amazing Grace & Wisdom beyond my comprehension! We have a lot of information and knowledge in this world, but what the world needs is Revelation from God Himself through His Word, by faith in Jesus Christ!
The world represents who Jesus come for –not the heathy, but the sick.
God is deeply revealing to us His love for us & His plan of Salvation for us, as written also in John 3:14, and verse 15 “even so MUST the Son of man be lifted up: that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
(God’s only BEGOTTEN Son): God So loved the world that He gave His only Begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:16-17King James Version (KJV)
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
Revelation 1:5King James Version (KJV)
5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
God So loved you and me and the world, that He gave His only begotten Son for us that we might choose life and choose blessings –when there was no choice before! Jesus has revealed to us life over death to all who will believe!
We know John 3:16 states, “God Gave His only Begotten Son…” and we know John 3:17 states, “…not to condemn sinners, but that through Him might be saved.” I just found written in Revelation 1:5 from Jesus Christ, “…the first BEGOTTEN of the dead…”
How can the world refuse him now?
Much love and compassion in Christ,
