Dear Dewey, After countless constituent meetings and careful evaluations with experts on both sides, I have decided to vote in favor of the Iran Deal. I am convinced that this historic agreement is the best option to protect the national security of the United States and our allies. This is one of the toughest decisions I’ve made as a Member of Congress because it holds serious national security implications. Despite my support, I remain concerned that Iran will continue to sponsor terrorism, threaten Israel, and promote instability throughout the region. I believe they are motivated to undermine peace in the region, and that is why we must work with our allies in the international community to prevent a nuclear Iran. I am grateful for the input I received from many of you across the state, particularly the thoughtful opinions and discussions I had with constituents throughout the 1st Congressional District.
