Our True Identity is Bridal Written by Monica Miller-Ruhl

In order for God to act sovereignly He needs vessels that are fully aligned to Him relationally.  God has one eternal plan and purpose for humanity that they would become His kind (Gen. 1:26).

The Old Testament is laced with being in marriage covenant with God although few understood its ultimate reality until it was more fully revealed to the Apostle Paul in the Book of Ephesians where our true identity is revealed as Bride.  Later the Apostle John was given the revelation of the Lamb and His bride (wife) in the Book of Revelation.

What is missing in the church is the identity of her high calling, and that being specifically bridal, which Paul refers to as the great mystery.  A salvific love relationship, though necessary and extraordinary, is meant, however, to be moved into eternal purpose—Bridal love.  That is why the Book of Ephesians is given to us.  Bridal relationship cannot be assumed, it is the journey of becoming Christ’s image under the governance of the Holy Spirit.  If we are not offering this eternal reality we are not preparing a people for the full intent of God.  A salvific life will leave us seeking God for our own purposes rather than His eternal will.  The dynamic of Salvation involves the progression of becoming one with eternal thought.  The absence of this creates many things that do not originate with the heart and mind of God.  If Christ does not have a people singularly to Himself and His purpose there is nothing for Him to presence Himself in.

Distractions have become the plague of our day and a basic tool of the enemy.  Christ must once again become our priority, our focus, and the purpose by which all true life flows. He forever has been the solution and is what we have been given—the Son of Man, the Son of God.  This heavenly Promise, Christ, must become the reality of a born again experience by which we inherit our second birth directly from out of the heavens as well, as New Creations, coming into fullness—full measuredness of His nature living preeminently within us.  That is not an overnight manifestation.  Truth must be grown in our inward parts and His increase brings our soulish decrease.  Simply put the old nature is a hindrance to the new as its influence comes directly from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, a cursed tree.  If we live from our natural mindedness true life can never be produced.  Our natural mind functions in terms of the natural realm but it is the root of enmity with God in spiritual matters.

There is an epidemic in the church of immaturity created by false doctrines and man driven purposes.  Spiritual things are spiritually appraised directly by the guidance and power of the Holy Spirit who is committed to our conformity to Christ.   He has been given to us as the New Creation child trainer to educate us in the ways of God experientially and relationally in conjunction with the written Word for the beholding of Christ that brings transfiguration.  It is the Holy Spirit who presses us on to our highest calling in Christ Jesus to become His kingly-priestly bride without spot or wrinkle.  Becoming the Bride of Christ is the concert of eternal thought.  We must grasp that reality.  We must make knowing Christ relationally our quest.  Anything that would precede this is a guarantee that we will miss the mark of our high calling in Christ Jesus.

We are in the season of taking time to examine our lives before God openly.  Coming before Him is a privilege not a hardship.  May we do just that and come before Him that we would receive His increase of life.

I encourage you to read the Word and have understanding of the Bride of Christ speaking to her Bridegroom.  I find the Book of Psalms a great place to unveil that because David represents a kingly-priestly bride.  ~m

HEAR [the Bride’s] cry, O God; listen to [her] prayer.

From the end of the earth will [she] cry to You, when [her] heart is overwhelmed and fainting; lead [her] to the rock that is higher… [yes, a rock that is too high for me].

For You have been a shelter and a refuge for [the Bride], a strong tower against the adversary.

[She] will dwell in Your tabernacle forever; let [her] find refuge and trust in the shelter of Your wings. Selah

For You, O God, have heard [her] vows; You have given [her] the heritage of those who fear, revere, and honor Your name.  (Ps. 61:1-5, AMP)

…your Maker is your Husband — the Lord of hosts is His name — and the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; the God of the whole earth He is called. (Is. 54:5, AMP)
