Friends,
We will meet Saturday September 19, in front of the NM Lottery office to do a Roast of the Lottery (tickets), and join the National Day of Action Against Predatory Gambling. The number of groups across the U.S. carrying out similar activities is now over the 100 mark, as well as groups in Italy, Australia and Great Britain.
We will meet at 10:00 am, at 4511 Osuna Road, about one block west of I-25 on the north side of the road. We promise to keep it to around 30 minutes. It you want to make it more fun, bring discarded lottery tickets to roast, and produce posters protesting the lottery push to legalize credit card, debit card and online purchases of lottery tickets.
State Senator William Senator will be joining us, and I hope to add a couple of other public officials. Several media representatives have indicated that they will cover the event.
We should have a lot of fun, and hope to alert the public and public officials to this effort by the state lottery to promote and expand institutionalized unfairness, exploitation and inequality in New Mexico.
