Millions of Israeli children and their parents took to the country’s streets with their bicycles Wednesday as the Yom Kippur holiday guaranteed that there would be hardly any vehicular traffic to interfere. Yom Kippur, the holiest day on the Jewish calendar, is also the quietest day as religiously observant Jews spend most of the day in Synagogue and even many of the non-observant join them or else spend a quiet day at home with their families.
