Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave several interviews with prominent US news programs over the weekend before returning to Israel following the UN General Assembly meeting earlier this week. In one such interview, he told CNN‘s Fareed Zakaria that Israel’s relations with Russia remain cordial despite the recent launch of a Russian military campaign in neighboring Syria, but that it remains to be seen how that campaign and related Russian actions will affect the relationship with Jerusalem going forward. In other interviews Netanyahu said that he was eager to move past disagreements with the Obama Administration over the Iran nuclear deal, adding that the time has come to work together to resist Iranian aggression in the Middle East.
