A SHOCKING AND IGNORED REALITY, Written By David Maddox
I just saw a shocking statistic. Did you know that only 7% of Americans actually go to a church? No wonder Jesus’ command to us was NOT to rely only on Pastors and churches to proclaim the Gospel but rather for EVERY Believer to go and tell (Matthew 28:19-20) (literally means as you are going). The Jerusalem church of the Book of Acts set the example. They shared daily in public places, in market places, and house to house (Acts 5:42) (Acts 17:17) (Acts 20:20). We are losing America because we are not sharing the truth of God’s Word – His love – and the Gospel with Americans. We have left it to churches and Pastors who cannot reach all of America because Americans for the most part do not go to church. There is still time, but not much – and it will not happen if we do not obey Christ and go and tell.
More from David……..
I never liked the Book of Job. It seemed to me unthinkable that God would allow Satan to attack the most righteous man on the face of the earth as He did, but then I encountered the intruder within and my perspective changed. I found as I read the Book of Job that God’s purpose in allowing Satan’s attack was to provide Job with a new revelation of Himself – to revive Job so that he would be prepared for additional service and blessing. I saw God’s love in His protection of Job from Satan’s most evil desires – I saw God’s clear revelation that such an attack on the body is not evidence of sin or God’s displeasure, but may in fact be the exact opposite. I found encouragement and increased faith in Job’s experience.
About David Maddox – After a legal career in both Texas and Arizona that spanned over 40 years as a civil litigator, God called David to leave his law practice and work full time as Discipleship Director for Time to Revive. That call is really the fruit of decades of prayer for revival and teaching God’s Word, writing discipleship materials and seeking to make disciples. David married Janet Whitehead in 1976 and they minister together from their Phoenix home. God has blessed them with four children and thus far seven grandchildren.
