Once again we find ourselves praying for families and victims of a school shooting. This time a college and the shooter sought out Christians to be his victims. When are we as Christians and as a country going to say enough is enough and get busy trying to change this tragic situation? What can we do to bring our people to God and encourage each other to believe?
Isn’t the evidence clear that God does exist and that He works in the lives of people? Why have so many minds been closed and hearts hardened to the knowledge that He is here? Is it maybe because we have become afraid to speak out? Are we not bold enough or confident enough in our faith to stand up and announce to the the world that we serve a living God? Are we willing to have our faith pushed aside and kept within the confines of a church building? Are we willing, like these students were, to stand up and say we are Christians…. even knowing that death might be be cost?
To me the most horrendous crime on earth would be to kill someone simply because of their faith in Jesus Christ. When anyone can get so deep in sin that God Himself can’t reach them, it is clearly the work of the devil. The battle we find ourselves in today is not only one that can be fought with bombs and missiles. Ephesians 6:12 “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
Unless we are all willing to become victims and give in to this movement of hatred and immorality that is trying to overtake us, it will succeed. We must come out of our comfort zones, open our own eyes and clearly see the job that is set before us. This is not a time only for prayer but a time for action from the people of God. If you are a Christian it is your responsibility to encourage others to believe. We are called to be bold in our faith and willing to go to the ends of the earth in order to spread the Words of Jesus Christ.
Are we relying on God to do the work for us? How can He if we are not willing to be His feet and His voice? If He has done a work in your life, tell somebody about it. He has promised to never leave or forsake us, but have we abandoned Him? His spirit is alive and living in the hearts of every person who has accepted Him as their Savior and Lord. Dosen’t the knowledge of this alone make us want to share the love we have found in Him? His is not a selfish love to be hidden and enjoyed by us alone. Faith is to be shared and spread among the people so all can know the joy of serving Him.
My prayer is that God’s people will come alive with faith and determination that no matter how much time we have left we will spend it sharing His love and the truth of His salvation with everyone we come in contact with. I want to see revivals and crusades….people marching for Jesus in every town in America. Our country is dying and without Him the situations we see today will only get worse. Please join me in praying, not only for the families of these last victims of violence, but pray for our country and it’s leaders that their hearts will be touched and moved by the power of Jesus Christ. It’s time to say enough is enough and turn our people back to God!
AMEN!!!!!!
