FROM ICEJ NEWS: White House blasts Netanyahu for WZO speech
White House press secretary Josh Earnest condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during the daily press briefing Thursday, calling his recent speech in which he implied that WWII-era Palestinian leader Haj Amin al-Husseini was directly responsible for prompting Adolf Hitler to exterminate the Jews of Europe part of the inflammatory rhetoric causing the recent spike in terrorist attacks against Israelis. “The inflammatory rhetoric needs to stop,” Earnest declared. The press conference came a few hours after Netanyahu met with Secretary of State John Kerry in Berlin for four hours, after which Kerry emerged declaring “cautious optimism” that the wave of terrorism against Israelis would soon wind down. Netanyahu also met Thursday with German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier and EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini to discuss the current situation.
