Changing Black Friday…
Today, let’s change the status of Black Friday to a day of divine appointments.
Romans 8:6-8 The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God.
Galatians 6:8-9 Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
Proverbs 14:12-14 There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death. Even in laughter the heart may ache, and rejoicing may end in grief. The faithless will be fully repaid for their ways, and the good rewarded for theirs.
Philippians 3:18-21 For, as I have often told you before and now tell you again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is set on earthly things. But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.
2 Timothy 3:1-5 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.
Isaiah 26:3-4 You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal.
Father, thank you that every good gift comes from above. Today, as people are shopping all across this globe, help them to stay focused on what is the most important. The greatest gift ever given to this world, is Jesus Christ. It is a gift every person must receive for themselves. The purchases today will eventually wear out, be given away or tossed aside. Life with you is eternal. We pray for boldness to share our faith today with another. Thank you for setting up divine appointments.
All across this globe today, let’s declare to Black Friday that Jesus Christ is alive and is very involved in Christmas. We join our faith and pray for lost souls in our families, friends, communities and even our enemies. Thank you for removing the veil that is keeping them blinded in Jesus name. (2 Corinthians 4:4)
Help people today to stay focused on why they are shopping. Let’s remember why we give gifts at Christmas. It’s all about Jesus Christ. Black Friday will soon be gone, but eternal life is forever. Your Word says in Acts 3:6 Then Peter said, Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk. May many start their journey walking with you today, we pray. Amen
