“America is too young to die.”
Dear Friend, My father, Billy Graham, turns 97 this week on November 7. He still has a tremendous burden for the lost and faithfully prays for our nation. He is deeply concerned about the direction of our nation, and I can’t think of a better encouragement on his birthday than knowing that many others are also devoting themselves to fervent prayer and bold action for America. Nearly 40 years ago, my father said something that is even more pressing today. “Will America turn to God at this late hour, or will America continue on the broad road that leads to destruction? … There is no possible solution to the problems we face apart from a change in the spiritual atmosphere.” He continued with chilling words: “America is too young to die.” My father then urged Christians to pray for America, to get involved in the political process, and to help shape the kind of country we’d all want for our children and grandchildren. That’s exactly what I’m going to do on Decision America Tour in 2016—to travel to each of the 50 states to proclaim the Gospel and call the church to follow God’s Word in repenting of our sins and seeking Him. I will challenge Christians to take a stand, to get off the sidelines, and to get involved in the political process at all levels. Today we’re announcing three more stops on the tour: Columbia, South Carolina, February 9; Atlanta, Georgia, February 10; and Honolulu, Hawaii, February 24. I’m also asking you to join your state’s prayer team and to sign the Decision America pledge. Will you act today—and will you invite everyone you know to join me in your state capital in 2016? America is too young to die. God, revive our nation! Sincerely,
“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” |
