Reports indicate IS using chemical weapons in Syria
Reports emerged from Syria Thursday that mustard gas was used in the course of a battle last August between the Islamic State (IS) terror militia and another rebelfaction in the town of Marea, north of Aleppo. The report by experts from the UN’s Organization for the Abolition of Chemical Weapons (OACW) did not speculate about which side used the mustard gas, but one expert who worked on the report told Reuters that it was more likely IS was responsible, adding “Either they gained the ability to make it themselves, or it may have come from an undeclared stockpile overtaken by IS.
