Iran angry over visa-waiver program restrictions
Officials in Iran reacted angrily over the weekend to reports that the US had tightened security arrangements for a visa-waiver program for 38 countries, making it more difficult for people who have visited Iran, as well as Iraq, Syria and Sudan, to enter the US. Iranian officials said the move was a violation of the nuclear agreement finalized in July which the Islamic Republic still has not signed and has given every indication of not considering itself obligated by. However, nuclear officials in Iran did manage to announce on Sunday that they are nearly ready to ship most of their enriched uranium to Russia for safe-keeping in the coming days, in compliance with the nuclear agreement.
