Quntar Assassination Followed by Exchange of Fire on Israel’s Border

Israel was giving an official “no comment” to reports that Samir Quntar, a Lebanese Druze who carried out a horrific attack in Israel in 1979 before being released in a prisoner exchange in 2008 and immediately joined the Shi’ite terror militia Hezbollah, had been killed in an airstrike Sunday morning. Three rockets were fired into northern Israel from southern Lebanon following the reports, prompting retaliatory strikes by Israali Defense Forces artillery units.
