This year, President Barack Obama claimed the top honor among men, and Donald Trump was named the runner-up. Trump tied with Pope Francis for the 2nd place spot.
Gallup noted, “Trump’s surprisingly strong and often controversial presidential campaign has made him a prominent news figure this year and, thus, top-of-mind for many Americans.
