Jerry Calf“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”    (II Chronicles 7:14)

In 1992, the LORD gave me a limited understanding of the direction our nation was heading, and at the same time He presented this Scripture from II Chronicles 7:14 and burned it into my heart and soul as being the only recourse for America.   I then began to teach and preach and beg the church of the LORD Jesus Christ to turn from worldliness and back to the LORD.

America is in a desperate situation.   God is our only hope!   Genuine spiritual awakening is vital and necessary to the healing and hope for this generation.   We will not experience genuine revival within the church without first reviving prayer within that church.  You can have a revival of the church without a great orator.  You can have a revival of the church without gifted musicians (even without music at all).  But you will not experience a revival of the church without first the church returning to the private and corporate prayer experience; thus the need for a revival of prayer.   Our world needs committed intercessors, and I work diligently toward that end.

Jesus said His church must be a house of prayer (see Matt. 21:13)God has called His church to prayer.   A church united in prayer can change the world for the LORD.   But many churches are not making prayer a vital part of their ministries.  Corporate prayer can break the bonds of the past, and open the body of Christ to God’s purposes, joining Him where He is working, both locally and world-wide.

Since 1994 I have been involved in multiple prayer ministries, and traveled in many nations, in an attempt to awaken the church to the responsibility and the joy of prayer.

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.  Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”   (Ephesians 6:10-12)

“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:  (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)   Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;    And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.”   (II Corinthians 10:3-6)

Christian, do you have a battle plan?   It is time that you did!   Prayer works!   I have seen the power of God manifest in people’s lives through prayer alone.  I have experienced the wondrous working of prayer in my life.

Too many in our generation have lost the effectual fervency of a powerful prayer life.   We do not pray.   Prayer is hard work, yes, but it is a necessary and expected work of the church.

Think about it; what might happen in our world if churches began to seriously pray once again?   What if pastors and church members, in humility, turned to the LORD in repentance and began to seek His face?

Folks, it takes a lot to get me to promote anything that might make a lot of money for someone else.   And, in all seriousness the Kendrick brothers are not hurting for more money, but they have recently put out a movie that I believe God is using to awaken the church to prayer.   The movie WAR ROOM is such a tool.   I have personally seen it three times, and I am showing to my church this week.   I will unashamedly use anything available that might help to bring revival to the total church.   I saw several prayer meetings break out in the halls and lobbies of theaters after the showing of this movie.   Not only have they made a powerful movie to inspire prayer, but they also published prayer studies to go along with it.  I just concluded leading my church in the eight week study called: The Battle Plan for Prayer.   My people loved it.

Over 100 years ago, Andrew Murray said;  “The man who mobilizes the Christian church to pray will make the greatest contribution in history to world evangelism!”     I want to be that man!

Church, awaken thou that sleepeth!   Pray On!   Go to your WAR ROOM!
