Good News, Bad News …It’s Not About You
Today, let’s thank God for using ordinary people to do exploits for His Kingdom.
I know I use this scripture often, but it’s one that I like a lot. It helps me remember that I can’t do anything apart from Christ. I can do things beyond what I could ever think or imagine for Christ thru Him. The most important aspect of it- it’s all for His glory. That my friend, He will not share with anyone.
Zechariah 4:6 It’s Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the LORD of hosts.
I have a dear friend I like to refer to as my Titus mentor. I get so filled with excitement with God flowing thru me at times and things happening in ministry, I want to tell the whole world. Julie would always say Angel you can’t do anything apart from Christ. It’s Him doing it; you are just a vessel to be used by God to flow thru. I would assure her, I knew that. Then she would always say Angel, now all the glory goes to God, you get none. I would respond with a yes, yes Julie I know, but I am excited that God would use me. Who am I, just an ordinary person that the creator of the universe would choose to use. Then we would talk about how God used a donkey in the Bible. (Number 22:28) Now that keeps you pretty humble.
This year are you available to God first? Are you willing to put His agenda on top of yours? Just some questions to ponder. Then the hardest of them all…the persecution. Can you withstand it, for it will surely come. Remember the Word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his Lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you. (John 15:20)
Let’s pray together:
