Sometimes I feel I live in a third world country. All hell has broken loose here in New Mexico. Killing after killing. The respect for life is at an all time low in New Mexico, from countless abortions to so many murders. Murders in Albuquerque in 2015 were up 35%. As the State Legislature gets ready to convene they are looking at all sorts of legislation. I pray they can clean up the Judaical system and help local law enforcement agencies increase their budgets to hire more officers, but we have to remember you can not regulate morality. With all the fancy dancy speeches by Albuquerque Mayor Berry and Governor Martinez about the extreme violence and killings in the state, nothing has changed, because hearts have not been changed, hearts need to be turned toward our Lord Jesus Christ. The first thing politicians think of is what law they can pass on top of the laws already on the books. The New Mexico Legislature is going to bicker and bicker about all sorts of things in their 30 day session, I am sure nothing much will come out of it, except for a lot of hot air. Lot’s of money will be spent on the ‘feed bag’ and that is about it.
One thing I sure have learned as a Pastor is that, past behavior is the best predictor of future behavior……..
Most of the Legislators will all dress up in their fancy dress clothes, party, take selfies, post all their wonderful deeds on Facebook and not do the people’s business. Thankfully we have Christians, Nora Espinoza, Bill Sharer, Alnonzo Baldonado and others there standing in the gap for God.

The natural mind is killing our state and nation:
The “natural mind” is the thinking process that is limited to human reason and resources, that is what we see in most Americans. Human history shows that the natural mind becomes progressively self-destructive if left to its own desires. People who are directed by their natural minds and not of God, walk in darkness and have incorrect thinking. This is why America is falling into the pit of hell.
The Scriptures call the mind of the natural man “blinded” 2 Cor. 4:4, “depraved” Romans 1:28, “corrupt” 1 Tim. 6:5 and “unspiritual” Col. 2:18
If you truly believe in our Lord Jesus Christ, you will not compromise His Word.
Just a reminder….New Mexico ranks 49th in education…..49th in our children’s well-being….New Mexico has the highest rate of children living in poverty in the nation……62% of our 3 and 4 year old’s are not enrolled in pre-school……79% of our children are not proficient in reading by the 4th grade…..43% of our children are raised in single-parent families. All this awful stats with Governor Martinez, who was to be the ‘education Governor’ and her highly touted Education Secretary. All this with more Republicans in the Legislature…..as I said…..past behavior is the best predictor of future behavior….New Mexico is in an awful cycle, only by people giving their hearts to our Lord Jesus Christ will this cycle be broken.
My challenge to us all……Pastor’s, Churches, the Body of Christ, Ministries like FGGAM, Christian radio and TV……what are you doing out on the street to turn this tide?
I pray we all do more……..more for the poor………going into the homes of the poor, feeding the poor with the bread of Life.

The last wishes of Alexander the Great………
On his death bed, Alexander summoned his army generals and
told them his three ultimate wishes:
- The best doctors should carry his coffin …
- The wealth he has accumulated (money, gold, precious stones)
should be scattered along the procession to the cemetery ….
- His hands should be let loose, so they hang outside the coffin for all to see !!
One of his generals who was surprised by these unusual requests asked
Alexander to explain.
Here is what Alexander the Great had to say:
- “I want the best doctors to carry my coffin to demonstrate that in the face
of death, even the best doctors in the world have no power to heal..”
“I want the road to be covered with my treasure so that everybody sees
that material wealth acquired on earth, will stay on earth..”
I want my hands to swing in the wind, so that people understand that
we come to this world empty handed and we leave this world empty
handed after the most precious treasure of all is exhausted, and that is : TIME.
We do not take to our grave any material wealth. TIME is our most precious
treasure because it is LIMITED. We can produce more wealth, but we cannot
produce more time.
When we give someone our time, we actually give a portion of our life that
we will never take back. Our time is our life !
The best present that you can give to your family and friends is your TIME.
May God grant you plenty of TIME, to share with all.
