Israel warily watching as instability rises in Turkey

Security forces in Turkey were on high alert Thursday following a brazen attack on a police station in the restive southeast which killed five people and wounded at least 39 others. The incident came two days after 10 German tourists were killed by a suicide bomb attack in Istanbul, dealing another blow to Turkey’s battered tourism industry and adding fuel to the argument made by some analysts that Turkey is in a state of low-level civil war. Authorities announced Wednesday that the suicide bomber in Tuesday’s attack was a recently arrived refugee from Syria affiliated with the Islamic State (IS) terror militia.
