If Kentucky can do it, why not New Mexico!!!??? Let us pray in our WAR ROOMS!!!!
What do we not understated about this:
Jesus Blesses the Children Matthew 19:13-15
13Then some children were brought to Him so that He might lay His hands on them and pray; and the disciples rebuked them. 14But Jesus said, “Let the children alone, and do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” 15After laying His hands on them, He departed from there.
Kentucky’s Governor Matt Bevin has signed a bill that would make it mandatory for a woman seeking abortion to receive medical information at least 24 hours before the procedure.
The information must be delivered either during in-person, face-to-face meeting or via a real-time video conference, according to Senate Bill 4.
From Father Stephen Imbarrato
Republican State Senate Majority Leader Damon Thayer was quoted by media as saying “It just goes to show that elections have consequences.” Fr. Frank Pavone, national director of Priests for Life, said “Kentucky is blessed to have a governor who leads by serving.”
Here in New Mexico, elections do not have consequences. In NM where we have never had meaningful pro-life legislation passed, where we have no oversight of the abortion industry, no restrictions on abortion anytime during pregnancy, politicians do not plan but react after the fact, write poor bills, drag their feet and do just enough for some to look good without anything really happening. Losses are called victories, every pro-life pronouncement is labeled with ridiculous superlatives for self promotion, and while the governor does nothing and says nothing, so called pro-lifers give her and others cover while attacking others for being critical of the political leadership. Babies are dying, women are being wounded and everyone is more concerned with looking good and playing politics than with standing up and taking risks to stop the bloodshed. Here is what needs to be done! (1.) write solid, no exception prolife legislation ending late term abortion, requiring informed consent (like Kentucky), and requiring hospital privileges for abortionists. (2) introduce and promote the bills early with the governor taking a leadership role. ( see Fr Frank’s quote) (3.)The Catholic leadership polls and pressures the Catholic political leaders to insure that these bills get to both floors for up and down votes. 4. Zero tolerance for any politician who does not publicly support the legislation including protests and public exposure.
It is unconscionable that we have a so called pro-life governor and a majority of pro-life politicians in both houses and both parties yet nothing gets passed and only weak bills get proposed…and at that, late and without a clear plan. And then we provide cover for the politicians instead of calling them out? This is just putting politics before babies and moms. We should be ashamed of ourselves, not having victory parties! Lord have mercy on us.
