Bentzi Gopstein, leader of the “Lahava” organization which has been strident in its rhetoric against Christians and their presence in Israel for many years, was questioned by police Thursday over a recent article he wrote in which he made statements that police believe could be considered “incitement” against Christians and Messianic Jews. Also on Thursday, Israel’s Chief Rabbinate issued a statement accusing non-Orthodox denominations of “uprooting Judaism” by encouraging assimilation and intermarriage, among other things.
