Prayer is important! Prayer makes things happen world-wide! Prayer is an important part of an intimate relationship with God in Christ Jesus. Prayer is driven by love and fueled by the Holy Spirit. Prayer is vitally important in a life of any believer who wants to experience God.
Jesus Christ was a man of prayer. When one looks deeply into His life, in totality as revealed in the Gospels, you must come to the conclusion that of all the great that He did, His life of prayer was the greatest. He Himself was the embodiment of the Apostle Paul’s words before he wrote them. “Pray without ceasing.” For it was out of His life of prayer that it was opened unto Him what His Father was doing, and saying: “Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise” (John 5:19).
The Son took His cue to speak and to act out of His intimacy with the Father. And the Holy Spirit, with Him and in Him, was the power driving His activities.
Now, having said that, one should understand the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of prayer. He is the Master-Intercessor! And, perhaps of most importance to us, He breathes a spirit of prayer into the believer. He causes a believer to have an interest in prayer. He teaches the believer how to pray. And this is a School of Prayer that lasts a lifetime and aides in the believer’s sanctification. Are you enrolled? Have you been attending classes?
