Success Magazine Calls Joel Osteen “The Most Popular Minister On The Planet”

Note from Pastor Dewey Moede: The Only Gospel I beleive in is The Bible. I do not beleive in this thing of man called the “Prosperity Gospel” Right now on one of my favorite TV channels for westerns, INSP, they play every Saturday morning this fellow begging for money, and saying if you send him money you will be blessed! Christian TV and radio stations must be decide if they are going to be FULL GOSPEL, as do Churches and Pastors!  I have PROSPERITY, in my personal relationship with my Lord Jesus Christ and His Word, Full Gospel, I am! Just to be clear, Full Gospel means to me, that I beleive in the complete Word of God, in His Book, the Bible. Too many are getting off the path of God’s Word. Don’t get me started on why Pastors are afraid to REBUKE! They are afraid to become, UNPOPULAR!” I recently visited a very sick man in the hospital here in Albuquerque, this story makes my blood boil, on a  Christian TV station, a preacher was peddling “Holy Water”, send money and get your “Holy Water” that will heal you! UGH! This man ended up having  part of his leg removed and is having other health problems. He ordered the “Holy Water” months ago, of course it did not work, and now my friend cannot get off the peddler’s mailing list! This stuff is an embarrassment to God! SIN!  I share this write up because it should show you something……This prosperity thing is all messed up…..it messes with the true word of God. Read and pray!

This is the calling that God placed on my heart when He called me into FGGAM:

Preach the word [as an official messenger]; be ready when the time is right and even when it is not [keep your sense of urgency, whether the opportunity seems favorable or unfavorable, whether convenient or inconvenient, whether welcome or unwelcome]; correct [those who err in doctrine or behavior], warn [those who sin], exhort and encourage [those who are growing toward spiritual maturity], with inexhaustible patience and [faithful] teaching. -2 Timothy 4:2

The late, great man of God, Chuck Colson warned years ago on his program on KKIM radio, “The American Church has turned into a high school pep rally”

Yes, Chuck that is one of the main reasons why America is where it is at, on the edge of failure.

Paul, by Godly insight from the Holy Spirit, foresaw Pastors and others not heeding God’s Word:

For the time is coming when (people) will not tolerate (endure) sound wholesome instruction, but, having ears itching (for something pleasing and gratifying), they will gather to themselves one teacher after another to a considerable number, chosen to satisfy their own liking and to foster the errors they hold. 2 Tim. 4:3 AMP

Welcome to that time!

Featured on the February cover of Success magazine, Houston megachurch pastor and best-selling author Joel Osteen says he doesn’t hear the critics of his “prosperity gospel” who say he causes people to focus on themselves instead of God.

“It seems like I’m naive, but everybody I talk to, they’re saying, ‘You helped me, I like listening to you,’” he told Success. “And the stadiums full of people? They’re not coming because they’re critics. They’re coming because you touched their life.”

Osteen tells writer Michael Mooney, in the article that calls him “the most popular minister on the planet,” that precision is one of the keys to his success.

“It’s got to look good, and you’ve got to be precise,” he said of productions such as “A Night of Hope” that he held in San Francisco’s AT&T Park last year with the help of a team of almost 200 people. “There’s so much competing for the viewer’s attention these days.”

Osteen is promoting his latest book, “The Power of I Am,” and recently had a theological discussion on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” Colbert asked how he was going to top God telling Moses “I am that I am.”
