Are You A Foot Washer?

John 13:12-17  When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. “Do you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them.  “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am.  Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.  I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.  Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.  Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.

Matthew 20: 28 Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.

Mark 9:35 Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, “Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all.

Luke 22:27 For who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who is at the table? But I am among you as one who serves.

1 Peter 4:10-11  Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.  If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power forever and ever.

Father, thank you for laying down your very life for us. Just as you were a servant Lord, our hearts desire is to be a servant too. (Tell Him if this is true in your heart today.) Many will set at the table and look down on the lowly, Lord help that never to be us. Oh God, the gift you have placed in your people all across this globe today, may they use it to serve one another.

Everything we are or will ever become, may we be found faithful servants of the most High God, for your glory alone Jesus, for your glory alone. We take up our cross and follow you. Amen

Have A Blessed Day Beautiful People, For this is the Day the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it. Look for ways to serve today. Choose to be like Jesus.
