A few weeks ago, we started our sermon series on the life of Nehemiah. It has been wonderful to hear wonderful affirmations of this study! What a blessing! We have learned some things about the city of Jerusalem and the people who lived there. We learned that the wall around Jerusalem had been destroyed! We learned that a small remnant of God’s people had returned from Babylonian captivity and were trying to live there. But they living in danger and disgrace because of the city’s condition. We learned about Nehemiah’s heart for God’s people. In order to be successful in building we must have the ability to avoid distractions, we must have teamwork. 
There are all kinds of distractions in life. Nehemiah was exposed to at least three different kinds: Opportunity, Criticism and Fear.
