” And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.” (Mark 12:30-31)
This is the standard by which God judges each person. The heart of the person must first belong to God, and in turn then to all others. Who is your neighbor? That is everyone who is not you! God looks into the heart of every person. He is far more interested in developing your character than in providing for your comfort.
I am a white male. I had nothing to do with that outcome. I am not your enemy. I am your neighbor. If you love God, the greatest proof of that is that you will love me as you love yourself. The same test is true of me.
In reality, you only have one enemy and he is called by name; Satan. It is vitally important to you, your neighbor, your nation, and your world, that you stop seeing anyone but him as your enemy. Now, Satan can use any of these formerly listed in such a way that you will refer to them as your enemy. However, to do so would be to admit, at least at some point, that Satan has used and fooled each involved.
Pay attention! The Devil is your only enemy in life, period! His number one goal is to be sure that Hell will be filled with as many humans as possible. He will destroy you, your family, your church, your cities, your nations, using all against one another. He wants to destroy you!
To destroy you, us, society, nations, he builds strongholds in our minds against all truth. It is these strongholds that divide us all, beginning within the family structure and moving outward. Allow me to list just a few of the things that divide us: Race; gender; education; position or social standing — things that are likely to make one better than another in our minds. Then there are things like: Abortion; homosexuality, including same-sex marriage; divorce; violence — things that draw us away and divide us on biblical behavior.
The way to overcome, defeat, or destroy the strongholds which the devil has built in our minds to block out truth is spiritual warfare praying. But, the church in general is so divided she cannot see the truth of her need in this spiritual war. So, there remains one direction and hope; revival in the church! The church needs to be shaken to the core of her being. The church needs a touch of the Spirit of God! The church in America needs to finally wake up! Church, be revived!
” If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)
