Want To Fly Closer To The Flame?
John 14:26
But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.
This morning, I just had to stop and thank the Father for the third person in the trinity the Holy Spirit. I read a book many years ago now; Good Morning Holy Spirit by Pastor Benny Hinn and it really changed my life. It made my hungry to know God in a way I hadn’t known Him before. I soon became a life learner. No one knows everything, can remember everything and sees everything. The Holy Spirit will teach us, remind us and instruct us. I also listened to some teaching tapes by the late Dr. Ron Miller and his wife Ardyce. I had met Ardyce Miller years ago at Baptist Park in Mapleton, Maine. In addition, I heard this preacher speak at Riverside Wesleyan Campground in a little town called Blaine, Maine and bought teaching tapes on the Ghost Called Holy (Tim Elmore). As I would pray and ask the Holy Spirit to lead me each day, I found myself being more sensitive to His leading. I soon discovered there was more to being a Christian.
As a parent I would always get upset when Christians would buy my children things that were not good for them (occult stuff). Have you ever went to buy something and you feel a quickening don’t do it. Have you ever driven down that street and you sense to go a different route, or feel an urgency to pray for someone or something. It’s the leading of the Holy Spirit. If you haven’t had this experience you need to ask God to make you sensitive to the Holy Spirit.
Some people try to say you don’t need the Holy Spirit and there even some today that will say the Holy Spirit isn’t real. Well study up folks and ask God Himself to reveal truth to you. The Word of God is true and if you want to be more in tune with the Holy Spirit, tell Him so today. I love the title of these teaching tapes. I want to meet this Ghost Called Holy, You Mean There’s More? The Cost of Pentecost, Flying Closer to the Flame, You Better Watch Out. I just had to stop and go find an old tape recorder so I could listen once again.
That’s my prayer for us all today that we would walk by the spirit and fly closer to the flame. Wow, as I reflect back this morning on my journey thus far, I can’t help but get my praise on to God Himself for teaching me about His Holy Spirit.
Together, let’s fly higher with Jesus. Amen
Father, thank you for the ghost called Holy. Thank you for teaching us, instructing us, reminding us and showing us things to come. Today Oh God, our desire is to be more intimate with the person and the power of the Holy Spirit. God we want to be life learners of the Word of God. Teach us, instruct us, lead us today we pray.
Lord, forgive us when we didn’t want to believe in the third person of the trinity. It’s not what feels good, comfortable to our flesh or our earthly desires. It’s all about you and your Kingdom. Today, fill us with a fresh anointing and help us to be sensitive to the third person in the trinity- the Holy Spirit. We want to know Him more, yes more and more. Amen
