Washington, DC — The Select Investigative Panel on Infant Lives will hold a hearing on The Pricing of Fetal Tissue today. This ties into the University of New Mexico harvesting aborted baby parts from late-term abortionist Curtis Boyd who owns Southwestern Women’s Options center in Albuquerque, as both are under investigation by the Select Panel.  Boyd has received an appointment from the UNM OB-GYN Department as an assistant clinical professor despite not being an OB-GYN, nor a board certified doctor, requirements for UNM School of Medicine faculty.
“What compensation is late-term abortionist Curtis Boyd receiving from the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center for harvesting aborted infant hearts, lungs, eyes and livers” said Elisa Martinez, Executive Director of New Mexico Alliance for Life.  “Are we to believe that Boyd and his staff are harvesting aborted infant organs and body parts without any renumeration whatsoever?”
The release of videos last summer raised questions as to whether abortion clinics and middleman tissue procurement businesses were profiting from the sale of baby body parts, organs and tissues.
“The release of those horrific videos last summer raised many questions about whether abortion clinics and middleman tissue procurement businesses were profiting from the sale of baby body parts, organs and tissues,” Chairman Blackburn said. “This hearing will examine business documents, invoices, marketing brochures, and management documents that reveal one for-profit procurement business and several abortion clinics may have acted in violation of federal law by profiting from the sale of baby body parts, organs and tissues.”
Pursuant to H. Res. 461, the Select Investigative Panel has subpoenaed business and accounting documents of several organizations to determine if they were in violation of 42 USC § 289g-2, which prohibits the transfer of any fetal tissue for valuable consideration that exceeds the reasonable costs associated with the procurement.
