Reid: Rare procedural tactic an option to move Supreme Court nominee

Democrats say they may force Merrick Garland, President Obama’s Supreme Court nominee, onto the Senate floor for a vote with an unusual procedural tactic known as a discharge resolution.

“There are many procedural things we can do. That’s one thing we can do. Certainly we’ve got that in our arrow quiver, to do that and other things,” Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid (Nev.) told reporters on Tuesday.
