Real love does not think of “Self” first! God’s kind of love is “SELFLESS”! He demonstrated that on Calvary! The Bible depicts genuine love as something that is higher than anything else. It is depicted as something that is sacrificial. It is something that is given away for free. It is something that is given to others without expecting anything in return. in JOHN 13, Jesus showed His love for the disciples by washing their feet. Sadly, some people fail to see the significance of that!
Jesus demonstrated His love for them by serving them! It was His hope, that from that experience, they would learn to love and serve others. 1 John 3:18, says that ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS!
Hebrews 13:1….”Keep on loving each other as brothers.”
