UPDATED 6/1/16:

From Pastor Steve Stucker of New Covenant Church in Albuquerque:

An Important Message from New Covenant Church

An article in the Journal, about actions taken on the UNM campus to discipline a local church, with a name that sounds like us, has understandably raised some concerns. While their name is very similar to ours, we need to state very clearly, that we at New Covenant Church of Albuquerque, have NO connection or association with New Covenant Christian Church. They came into the community well over a decade after we were established, & appropriated a name that is uncomfortably close to ours, without ever asking us if that was a problem. We have had ongoing issues with people confusing us with them, ever since. We pray that they are able to work out any problems with the University, & that we will all be able to minister to & serve our community in a way that is pleasing to Jesus.
