Clashes in Eastern Jerusalem Mar Remembrance Day

Two Palestinians were wounded Wednesday morning after attacking IDF troops who entered the village of Kfar Aqap on the eastern edge of Jerusalem in the course of an investigation. The incident occurred shortly after another IDF officer was severely wounded by a pipe bomb which was detonated in Hizma, near the northeastern Jerusalem neighborhood of Pisgat Ze’ev. Meanwhile, the masked terrorists who stabbed two elderly Jewish women in Jerusalem on Tuesday morning remained at large, according to police.

Israel-Turkey Rapprochement Still Faces Hurdles

Shai Cohen, Israel’s consul-general in Istanbul, told reporters on Monday that the long-rumored diplomatic rapprochement between Turkey and Israel “will have to wait until the composition of the new Turkish government on May 22.” He added “I believe it will take another round or two in order to conclude the deal … Most of the issues between Israel and Turkey are already, to a certain extent, clear.”

Arab Media Reports Israeli Strikes on Hezbollah

Reports in Arab media outlets Tuesday indicated that Israeli aircraft had targeted a convoy of vehicles attempting to deliver strategic weapons to the Lebanese Shi’ite terror militia Hezbollah. The reports said the strikes hit several Hezbollah positions inside Syria but near the Lebanese border.

Hamas Continues Preparations for Next War

The Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) released further details this week of the intelligence it has gained from interrogating a captured member of the Hamas terror militia which rules the Gaza Strip. According to the releases, Hamas is continuing to build tunnels under the border in the hopes of infiltrating and attacking Israeli communities and otherwise preparing for a future conflict with Israel.
