French Prime Minister Manuel Valls was in Israel Monday for an official visit aimed at convincing Israeli officials to cooperate with a “peace” summit scheduled for 3 June in Paris. During his visit Valls is scheduled to visit several projects being jointly developed by Israeli and French firms as a demonstration of the potential economic benefits for Israel of cooperating with France, while also highlighting hoped for expansion of economic ties with the Palestinians as a way to coax both sides towards compromise.
