ISIS Targets Senior U.S. Military Officers

A website calling itself the Islamic State Hacking Division posted a target list including names, photos and personal data on 70 senior US military officers, urging their followers to “Knock on the doors of their homes, cut off their heads, stab them, shoot them in the face or blow them up.” A Pentagon spokesperson said security measures for the officers and their families are being stepped up but added the hit list “will not affect military operations against ISIS.”

The Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) announced on Tuesday morning that it recently intercepted an attempt to smuggle four tons of chemicals that can be used to manufacture rockets into the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip. The announcement came the same day that the IDF announced it will re-open the Erez crossing into Gaza for the movement of commercial goods.

Israeli Foreign Ministry Director- General Dore Gold was in Berlin Tuesday for meetings with German officials following conflicting media reports in recent days over Germany’s diplomatic policy towards Israel. However, both Israel and Germany have denied reports of tension in the relationship and Gold’s visit, which will continue for several days, was scheduled several months ago.
