The Israeli Air Force launched strikes against several terrorist targets in the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip Friday morning in response to mortar and gunfire attacks on IDF troops patrolling the border. Exchanges of fire along the border have also occurred between terrorists and IDF ground troops. The upsurge in kinetic activity comes as the IDF announced Thursday evening that it had uncovered another terror tunnel running under the border into Israeli territory.
