Reports Indicate Turkey Preparing to Widen Attack on IS
Reports in Turkish media indicate that a confrontation occurred early Thursday morning between security forces and Islamic State (IS) terrorists near the Syrian border, leaving two IS operatives dead. The incident occurred amidst widespread speculation that Turkey is preparing for a much larger offensive against IS, possibly including a ground incursion into IS controlled territory in Syria and/or Iraq. Neighboring Jordan has also indicated it is preparing for stronger action against IS.
