US-Israel Defense Negotiations at Critical Juncture

As negotiations between the US and Israel over a renewed military aid package continue, Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman’s office announced that he will travel to Washington over the weekend for consultations with US Defense Secretary Ash Carter. The announcement follows high-level Strategic Dialogue meetings with visiting US officials this week in Israel as well as an announcement that Israeli pilots are on their way to the US to train on the state-of-the-art F-35 Lightning II aircraft, which is set to be delivered to the Israeli Air Force by the end of the year.
