Today we begin our Fathers Day message….”What Kind of Father Are You?” Please soak in 1 Thess. 2:1-13….just so much love the Word of God! Amen! 1 Thessalonians was written in about 51 AD, to the church in Thessalonica. Paul, Silas and Timothy had previously been there, teaching and preaching and encouraging the new converts to Christianity. Because Paul’s visit there was brief, he writes this letter to continue his encouragement and instruction. He begins chapter one with some words of thanks for their faith and for the gracious way they had received Paul and hos fellow laborers during their stay in Thessalonica. He continues by saying, “Our visit to you was not a failure.” He says, “With God’s help, we were able to tell you the gospel message, even in the midst of strong opposition.” He reminds the church that he and the other Apostles were pure of heart…..”never trying to flatter people and never putting on a mask to cover up greed”
