IDF forces on Israel’s northern border were on high alert Wednesday following an incident in which a border patrol near Metulla came under fire from inside Lebanese territory, lightly wounding one soldier. Hours later, reports surfaced that Israeli aircraft struck Assad regime targets in the Syrian zone of the Golan Heights, but a statement by the regime denied this, saying it was rebel factions which fired on the position.
