We are all a work in progress!
It seems that everyday the Lord is softening my heart for Him and His ways…..I can feel His presence in my life more than ever! He is teaching me to teach and preach in love and accountability to Him and His ways. I love people so very much. I was asked the other day after I got done with my sermon, “Dewey, have you always had such a heart for people?” I said yes….my Mommy and Daddy grew me up right, but the Lord has worked on me for 60 years in having me love Him and people more! It is a precious gift to feel the Lord’s presence in your life constantly. That does not mean me or you will not face problems, but the Lord is with us through thick and thin!
So many people have helped me to get to this point in my life. We must keep our eyes on our Lord Jesus Christ, let Him be our guide, not the world of “nothing noise”.
We must start each day seeking Him and His ways, by being in prayer and absorbing His Words. We are to be a walking Bible. As I read my Bible to start another day I think of these words by Thomas Carlyle: “The Bible is the truest utterance that ever came by alphabetic letters from the soul of man, through which, as through a window divinely opened, all men can look into the stillness of eternity, and discern in glimpses their far-distant, long-forgotten home.”
Jesus said, “I am…the truth” John 14:6
