The Beitar Jerusalem Football (soccer) club played a Europa League match against St. Etienne in France Thursday night in front of a deeply hostile crowd holding Palestinian flags and chanting anti-Israel slogans. It was the second time this month that an Israeli football club was thus taunted by fans of a European football club. However, the city council of Vélez-Málaga in the Costa del Sol region of Spain, voted this week to overturn a measure to join the campaign to Boycott, Divest and Sanction (BDS) Israel.
