He Was There All The Time, in Memory of Annette Garcia, By FGGAM Vice Chairman Pastor Bill Ruhl of Global Destiny Ministries
Just my thoughts of a dear friend this morning. She and her father, her family and their ministry mean the world to me.
We do not grieve as the world grieves. Death has no hold on us. (1 Thes 4:13) We pass through the veil of Christ’s flesh into the eternal presence of God. (Hebrews 10:20) Absent from the body, but ever present with Him.(2 Cor 5:8) Our hope is not despair, but a certainty of who we are in Christ and the Glory of Him in us. (Col 1:27)
Because we have this confidence, we do not live as the world lives. We are not of this world, we are in it, and sojourners just passing through. We are of another Kingdom and it is eternal and glorious. (John 15:19, 17:14-16) So much comfort in all of that revelation that flows from His precious Word!
As I was thinking about Annette Garcia this morning, I began to think of her final journey to Oasis of Hope and it dawned on me that she was away from so many of her family and friends at the time of her passing. I said, “Who was there Lord?” Instantly I heard the Lord respond, ” I was there all the time!” An old song flooded back into my spirit that I hadn’t sung for a long time. I sat down on the couch and began to sing to myself, “He was there all the time. He was there all the time. Waiting patiently in line. He was there all time!” Annette had drawn ever so near to Jesus as she danced with Him through her life’s journey and He was always near and dear to her… He was there all the time! She danced with Him as if no one was watching, but I’m so glad we were! She is surely singing, “Dance with me, Oh Lover of my soul, to the song of all songs!”
I miss Blackie and Annette. My life is so much better in knowing them. Thank you SBN. Much love and blessings.
