Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the UN General Assembly Thursday evening, opening his speech by confidently predicting that “Israel has a bright future…at the UN!” and going on to explain why he was so optimistic. His speech touched on familiar themes of Israel using its unique knowledge, experience and technology to help countries around the world solve various problems, before dramatically inviting Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to come “speak to the Israeli people at the Knesset in Jerusalem,” instead of trying to speak past Israel to the international community.
