House Democrats on the Panel, who collectively receive tens of thousands of campaign dollars from the abortion industry, agressivley and shamelessly obstructed the meeting’s business, leading up to a staged walkout by the Panel’s 6 Democrats. The remaining members voted on the Contempt of Congress recommendation for Cate Dyer, which passed 8-0, on party line vote.
Majority members stressed the importance of the law, and the Panel’s investigation of StemExpress, UNM and others involve matters of the law.
“A subpoena is not a suggestion,” said Chairman Marsha Blackburn in a statement. “It is a lawful order and must be complied with.” NMAFL asks, when will UNM fully comply with the Panel’s subpoenas?
Unexpectedly, the Panel did not vote to release the deposition of UNM abortionist and OB-GYN department chair, Eve Espey. However, NMAFL anticipates the content of Espey’s testimony to be released in the near future.
“Espey’s testimony is crucial to unlocking alarming issues ongoing at UNM, including infants born alive during abortions, the expansion of abortion at UNM and possible violations of the law, ” said Michael Seibel NMAFL general counsel. “It is time for the Governor, Attorney General, legislators and UNM Regents to take action, investigate and prosecute any and all violations in these matters, as is there is probable cause to do so.”
