Today my friends, we start a new series, “Being Citizens of Heaven and Earth” Do you know what gets my blood pressure going? People who do not respect this country! People who refuse to salute the flag and recite the pledge. The people who refuse to stand as the National Anthem is played or sung! Sometimes I feel like saying, “If you do not like it here…leave” BUT! Maybe we should not be so quick to stand and salute! maybe we should not be so proud! MAYBE we should simply GRATEFUL! This message is based on James 4:4-6. Please read that before listening.
Maybe we should be thanking God we were not born in Syria or Iraq or Afghanistan or Communist China! Maybe we should be thanking God that we are not living on the streets of Haiti or the jungles of Africa! Maybe we should be thanking God that wed are not hiding out in caves, wondering where our next bit of food will come from.
But here we are, watching the World Series on our Big Screen TV on our new hot shot iPhone or watching our favorite NFL team, in our comfortable homes. Worshiping God in nice air conditioned/heated buildings with the latest flash and dance technology.
