Yesterday was hospital visits…. this Thanksgiving many are in the Hospital. Let us remember them in our prayers like Pauline from Quemado and Joe from Raton. A nurse asked me if I would give Joe communion, what a blessing, a Godly honor! 5 of Joe’s family also asked for communion! I also am very grateful as always to the staff at UNM hospital for their extreme kindness! Especially the nurses! So excited to be a servant of our Lord! It is good to be excited about the Lord!!!
The nurses, all ages, love to hear about the old circuit preachers. One of my role models was Pastor Marvin Capehart. He was the host of “Ask The Pastor” on KKIM radio in Albuquerque for many years. He would travel New Mexico on the weekends and preach wherever God was calling him. Most weekends he would take his wife Jan with him in the car or van they had at the time, and I do not know how some of those vehicles continued to run!! LOL! It seemed they were always breaking down! The life of a circuit preacher!
By the way I have to tell you that one thing that continues to surprise me is the number of folks in New Mexico do not know where Reserve, Quemado, Datil, and Magdalena are located! When I was in school in the 6th grade, Miss Rasche taught us where every little town was in Minnesota!
I have put on so many miles this year, traveling all over New Mexico and the Revival in Windom! PRAISE GOD for the generosity of Pastor Ruben and Lucy Gomez of Midland, Texas to donate the Buick to us, we call it the Jesus Car! Pastor Ricky Gordon keeps it running! God not only gave me a best friend and Pastor, He gave us a Pastor who is an mechanic! Pastor Ricky takes most road trips with me.
I am praying for more circuit preachers in America! We need more!
We thank all of you who support our efforts for God by your love offerings!
Update 11-21-16
Miracles & Medical Update – Part 1
It has been a very long time since I have sent out an update for which I am sorry. There is lots to catch you up on so I will send this out in several parts over several days. The medical miracle continues as the cancer and infection remain stable. Dealing with the long term consequences of the chemo has been difficult which is why it has been so long since the last update . We decided to sign up with home hospice care –NOT because we have given up – but because they bring medical care and supplies to our home. We made it clear to them that we were not giving up and kept our cancer doctor as the one in charge of our care. It is interesting to be around so many people who re looking for things to get worse and for me to die soon. Lots of opportunities for a positive witness which we are seeking to use for His honor and glory. We remain at peace believing God is not finished with us and our trust is in Him. We obviously need your prayers and partnership along the way.
Philippians 2:4
Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.
Ephesians 4:32
Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
John 13:34-35
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
1 John 3:17-18
But if anyone has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God’s love abide in him? Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.
Proverbs 21:13
Whoever closes his ear to the cry of the poor will himself call out and not be answered.
Happy Thanksgiving to you all!
