Good Morning Beautiful People…Happy Thanksgiving

Good morning beautiful people, let’s all declare the goodness of our God today. As you know from my many writings, I am full of stories. True stories of God’s hand working on behalf of His people. I get so excited about it, that I like to share it with the whole world.

Recently, I traveled with a friend to Washington, D.C. She had a conference to go to and I had planned on doing some radio interviews. I met so many wonderful people and had some divine appointments.

On Friday morning after a telephone conversation with author, Brian Lake on His newest book Open Doors You Never Knew Existed, I was going to go for a walk and pray. That little still voice said go back and pick up your hotel room. My room wasn’t disastrous or anything, but just an inkling to return to the room. I strolled on up to the 9th floor and there I met the young lady that would be cleaning my room. She was 7 months pregnant. We talked about life and names she had picked out. I almost came unglued when she said she planned on naming her son Jeremiah. I inquired a little more…why Jeremiah? She said Jeremiah from the Bible.

Jeremiah is the name I felt the Lord gave me for my aborted son. I prayed for her that morning, her pregnancy and the many doors open to her, for her son, family and for her future. I was overjoyed to have met her. It made me think of a writing I penned, God Says Everyone Is Worthy Of A Name.

I had scheduled an interview with Pastor Dottie Schmitt from Immanuel’s Church for that Friday morning. A Pastor from Maryland I had met a few years ago at WOW (Women of the Word) Conference in Portland, Maine. Something came up and she wasn’t going to return to Maryland from her speaking engagement until Monday. I chuckled as I thought about how we make our plans, but God orders our footsteps. I wondered who else I would meet on this day. Dottie had a radio broadcast in Maryland and now has a podcast. I need to find this podcast and listen as I enjoyed her CD’s I purchased on leadership at WOW.

I decided to journey on and find the right elevator that would take me to the ball room for dinner. I met a FedEx man and he showed me in which direction to go. His name tag read Joshua. I thanked him for his guidance and inquired about his name. Joshua how did you get that name, I asked? His reply made me chuckle again. My mother got it from the Bible. I said Joshua, do you know who Joshua is in the Bible? He laughed and said yes. I can’t remember what I said to him, but I felt it was a powerful word meant just for him.

Meeting Joshua made me think of the books I read by Cathy Lechner. She used to pray FedEx cometh. I had the privilege to meet Cathy at Celebration Center years ago in Fort Fairfield, Maine. She spoke some of those powerful words to me that I am sure she doesn’t remember.

We should all be thankful for life, for our journey, for the amazing people we have the privilege to meet every day. We need to be thankful for the Word spoken to us through the Holy Scriptures and through people we meet that God ordains. Life is a beautiful gift to be treasured.

Today around our Thanksgiving table, let’s ask God to fill our mouths with His Words and speak words that exhort, empower and words full of grace and peace.

Happy Thanksgiving Beautiful People…Be happy and be thankful…

1 Corinthians 1:3 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
